A Test of the Cosmological Principle with Quasars

چکیده

We study the large-scale anisotropy of Universe by measuring dipole in angular distribution a flux-limited, all-sky sample 1.36 million quasars observed Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). This is derived from new CatWISE2020 catalog, which contains deep photometric measurements at 3.4 and 4.6 $\mu$m cryogenic, post-cryogenic, reactivation phases WISE mission. While direction quasar sky similar to that cosmic microwave background (CMB), its amplitude over twice as large expected, rejecting canonical, exclusively kinematic interpretation CMB with p-value $5\times10^{-7}$ ($4.9\sigma$ for normal distribution, one-sided), highest significance achieved date such studies. Our results are conflict cosmological principle, foundational assumption concordance $\Lambda$CDM model.

Measuring Cosmological Parameters with the SDSS QSO Spatial Power Spectrum Analysis to Test the Cosmological Principle

In this paper we emphasize the importance of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) QSO clustering statistics as a unique probe of the Universe. Because the complete SDSS QSO sample covers a quarter of the observable universe, cosmological parameters estimated from the clustering statistics have an implication as a test of the cosmological principle, by comparing with those from local galaxies and...

Cosmological Evolution of Quasars

We present a model for the cosmological evolution of quasars (QSOs) under the assumption that they are powered by massive accreting black holes. Accretion flows around massive black holes make a transition from high radiative efficiency (∼ 10%) to low efficiency, advection-dominated flows when Ṁ/ṀEdd falls below the critical rate ∼ 0.3α2 ∼ 10−2 where Ṁ is the mass accretion rate, ṀEdd ∝ M is th...

Quasars as Cosmological Standard Candles

We propose the use of quasars with accretion rate near the Eddington ratio (extreme quasars) as standard candles. The selection criteria are based on the Eigenvector 1 (E1) formalism. Our first sample is a selection of 334 optical quasar spectra from the SDSS DR7 database with a S/N > 20. Using the E1, we define primary and secondary selection criteria in the optical spectral range. We show tha...

The Aleph Cosmological Principle 1

A general cosmological principle — Aleph — is proposed as a substitute to the Anthropic principle. Furthermore, the universe, conceived as a world ensemble, is characterized by many (possibly infinite) X-Life world principles. The only known X-Life world principle recovers much of the Anthropic conjecture. The inescapable final conclusion is the formulation of the Strong Copernicus principle.
